A Romantic Wooded Backyard Wedding in Kansas City

Now that pandemic of COVID-19 is finally nearing an end, we're all overjoyed and beyond ready to get back to "normal". However if any trends we're to hang around as a result of the pandemic, I truly hope it's intimate and intentional backyard wedding days.

Something about small wedding days just truly hits different. The time you're able to spend with the most valued people in your lives is incomparable to if you were having a larger more traditional wedding day. Kirsten and Jason can certainly attest to this. They were able to spend quality time with not only each other throughout the entirety of their wedding day but also their immediate family members. Their day allowed for the most joyous first look I've ever witnessed, a private vow reading among the towering trees of Burr Oaks Conservation area, tons of stunning portrait opportunities, one on one time with each person in attendance, and time to just enjoy the day as it happened. Their small backyard wedding day was also full of special touches like their ceremony being held under a family-made arbor at Kirsten's childhood home and the personalized Nike sneakers that Kirsten surprised Jason with! Their tented reception was the perfect mix of rustic elegance and functionality with a see-through ceiling so they all could dance the night away under the stars. Everyone person in attendance was able to take a portrait with the bride and groom, eat, drink, dance, laugh, and share in the love that the couple exuded. Kirsten and Jason's intimate and family-filled backyard wedding day will hold such a special spot in my heart and I can't wait for their wedding day to be featured on Rock My Wedding... Coming Soon!
