Lauren and Riley became partners for life this past October on an overcast and somewhat rainy Saturday in Kansas City. This couples wedding day is the picture-perfect example for your traditional wedding day. If you're looking to plan a more traditional wedding day from start to finish you may want to take notes:
No First Look.
Private vow reading from one another.
Church Ceremony.
Ribbon wand grand ceremony exit.
All wedding party, family, and couples' portraits were photographed after the ceremony.
A trolly to the Kauffman Center for wedding party portraits with a bonus stop for some epic Crossroad KC views.
Cocktail hour on the rooftop of The Abbott.
Live Band, good food, and tons of dancing!
Riley and Lauren had it all! And their photos definitely represent their full day. Wedding days like Riley and Lauren's are why as a wedding photographer I value offering full-day coverage options. With a wedding day unobstructed by a set of hours Riley and Lauren needed to work around, I was able to capture their every single moment from start to finish. From mimosas in the morning to their spotlight dance it's all here!
Remembering back on Riley and Lauren's timeless fall wedding day, things that stick out as highlights for me would be their grand ceremony exit, Lauren's epic champagne pop with all her girls, hanging on the rooftop during sunset, and watching the two of them dance under the string lights, the way Riley looked at his bride as she walked down the aisle, shifting our wedding party portrait locations because of some light rain, Lauren's incredible cape veil, and the way these two absolutely rocked the dance floor! I wouldn't have changed a thing and I'm so honored to have been their photo sidekick capturing all those moments and more.
What also allowed the best coverage of their day was including a second shooter. Since Riley and Lauren were getting ready in their childhood homes, I couldn't be in two places at once. So my second shooter (Kelsie Crockett) and I split our mornings up to cover both locations. If you're planning your wedding day and still considering whether or not a second shooter would impact your day, reach out to your photographer for in-depth details surrounding your unique timeline. For all my clients, I provide an exclusive Jill Caren Photo Wedding Day Handbook at the beginning of their wedding year. This handbook covers E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G you could think of when it comes to your wedding day and your wedding photos, including on if a second shooter is right for you or not.
