I'm so excited to share this fall engagement session with my readers! Kara and Adam absolutely understood the assignment when it came to planning their engagement session. During our planning, Kara knew she wanted fall leaves, forest vibes, and to be able to pair those feels with her rustic ranch venue. So to start our session Kara and Adam chose great complimentary outfits to reflect the deep forest greens of the woods inside Burr Oaks Conservation Area. This location is such a unique spot outside of Kansas City and gives everyone those coveted forest/Pacific North West vibes, especially during fall or winter.
Pro Tip: When considering locations like Burr Oaks Conservation Area for your session, you'll want to do your homework! For example, because this location is rather popular it now requires a permit and permission for photography sessions. Additionally, pets are not allowed inside the park and their entrance gates close at dusk/sunset so you want to plan accordingly.
Our next location was the couple's wedding venue! Since Adam and Kara's big day is this next summer, they wanted to take advantage of the fall color backdrop exploding at their venue. Lone Summit Ranch, located just outside of Kansas City, MO on the outskirts of Lees Summit, MO is an incredible venue with such open arms to their couples and provided the perfect space for us to capture exactly the couple's vision. We were also able to include their pup in these photos which meant the world to the couple. Shooting at this private property allowed us to freely use every aspect of space Lone Summit had to offer as well as had offered proper changing locations when the couple wanted an outfit change. Kara and Adam chose to include some of their favorite Chief's t-shirts for a casual look and ended in their formal attire for a beautiful sunset.
As you can tell from the images and this post Adam and Kara checked all the boxes for their complimentary engagement session with me! They choose 2 locations, 3 outfit changes, included their pup, some of their favorite beer, Kara even had her hair and make-up trial on the afternoon of our session so she looked extra glam, but most importantly had a blast.
