Spring has almost arrived in Kansas City. As I drive around the KC area, I'm starting to see blooms on trees, budding new life coming from the earth, animals emerging from their hibernation, more and more people out and about, and it all has me so excited for this spring season! As I prepare for spring engagement sessions and wedding days, I can't help but reflect back on Jakeb and Eryn's unique spring engagement photos in Kansas City last year and how they fully trusted my photography vision and creativity.
The couple graciously gave me free rein with location choices, posing, and the overall vibe of their session, fully trusting in my creativity. This is truly the highest compliment! Jakeb and Eryn wanted both a "city feel" and a "nature feel" during their complimentary engagement session. I chose an underutilized area of Kansas City that I've had my eye on for a while to highlight the "city feel." The couple's city photos are full of rich history and personality; they're unlike anything I've ever shot in downtown Kansas City. The relaxed and candid energy they brought to the session allowed me to document their love in a modern and photojournalistic approach that still highlighted genuine connection and emotion. The iconic and unique architecture of the Quality Hill district served as a stunning backdrop, adding depth and dimension to the photos. From new views of downtown Kansas City to quaint city streets, rich brick facades, and stunning Brownstones, these "city feel" photos are unlike anything you've seen in KC!
For the "nature feel" Jakeb and Eryn were looking for, I suggested none other than Loose Park. Knowing the Rose Garden would be in full, vibrant bloom at the time of their session, it was the perfect choice. Their love was in full bloom among the flowers, bushes, and beautiful open green space, creating timeless and classic images.
This engagement session was effortless and resulted in some amazing photos that I know Jakeb and Eryn will cherish forever. I cannot wait to celebrate these two this spring at the beautiful La Villa in Kansas City.
